Lateral
Flow Format – REVEAL®
The REVEAL pathogen detection system has been designed for use within
the food industry, for the rapid detection of food-borne bacteria such
as E.coli 0157:H7 and Salmonella, in particular the meat and poultry sectors.
The REVEAL™ system provides a simple solution to pathogen screening.
All materials required to run the test, including enrichment media, are
provided. Based on an immunochromatic lateral flow design, results can
be obtained in as few as 8 hours for the E.coli kit and 20 hours for Salmonella
allowing detection and identification of the target organism.
DNA Probe-Based Methods - Gene-Trak®
DNA probe-based methods have been established as powerful tools for use
in the microbiological examination of foods. Used routinely in laboratories
for the analysis of raw materials and finished product for product quality
and safety, probe-based methods have been especially proven to be useful
in the qualitative determination of pathogenic bacteria in foods.
DNA hybridisation tests employ DNA probes specific to the target organism,
and a colorimetric detection system for the detection of organisms in
samples following broth culture enrichment. Tests are available in either
a dip-stick or microwell plate format for the specific detection of such
organisms as Salmonella, Listeria, E.coli and Staph. aureus.
